About The Prairie Road

Welcome to The Prairie Road.

This is a place for me to write. In the past, I wrote a column for my local paper about motherhood, and this is a continuation of that story. You may find me drifting into topics like cooking, reading and my place in the universe as well.

The name The Prairie Road was inspired by a column I wrote on the death of a dear friend. In it, I reflected on the Robert Frost poem "The Road Not Taken," observing that, in life, there are actually no obvious paths. The Prairie Road is the path I am forging for myself.

Housekeeping note: I eagerly welcome polite discussion and disagreements. However, personal attacks, especially against my other guests, will not be tolerated. Pretend that you are in my living room and that we all have tea cups.

And, of course, the opinions expressed in this blog are mine alone and do not necessarily represent the opinions of my employer, my children, my husband, the City of Salina, the state of Kansas, the U.S.A. or any other person, entity, collective or government.
